Oddbins – a walk along Upper Street, Islington, London

The Canonbury Oddbins branch due to become part of the expanding ExCellar chain?

One of the great advantages of the new Overground service that runs through Forest Hill is that it makes getting to East and North London much easier than previously. Believing that the deal between Simon Baile (ExCellar Ltd) and Oddbins was due to be consummated today, I took the train to Highbury & Islington to have a look at the Oddbins Canonbury branch – rumoured to be part of the deal – and also then to the Upper Street branch closer to the Angel.

Despite expectations that the deal between Baile and Deloitte would be formally signed today, there was still no news at 3.30pm today. A last minute financial hiccup?

Spring is here but Oddbins' isn't anymore

A farewell message – staff relations will have to be better if the expanded ExCellar chain is to prosper
