FIJEV Tuscan trip: Canon G series preferred camera

During the recent FIJEV trip to Tuscany the most popular camera was the Canon G series with 17% of the group owning one. There was a G9, a G10 and a G12, the latest in the series. The missing one in  the series was found on the Friday night dinner near San Gimignano when one of the producers had a G11. The camera is excellent, very portable, although I think it worth investing in a small flash unit like the Canon Speedlite 270EX.

Now back in London – unfortunately somewhat later than hoped due to my QueasyJet flight leaving Pisa nearly two hours late, although they may have had a reasonable excuse due to the bad weather that shut some Scottish airports – certainly Inverness – on Saturday.

Have added more pictures and some new text to the various reports on this Tuscan trip and expect to continue to do so over the next few days.

I'm now in Florence waiting to meet up with the 17 other journalists on this multi-national press trip to Tuscany. Among the 17 are Hervé Lalau and Marc Vanhellemont, two of my co-bloggers on Les 5 du Vin, so 40% of Les 5 are together in Tuscany for a few days.   

This morning at Gatwick it was quite a rare occasion as the QueasyJet to Pisa actually left early. Once we arrived in Pisa I caught the bus to the centre of Florence, which took an hour or so and gets you to Florence's main railway station. We are staying tonight in the Hotel Roma on the Piazza Santa Maria – just a very short walk from the station.
