Mulling it over (part 3): a heron @Bunessan
On our way to eat at the Argyll Arms Hotel in Bunessan (an enjoyable meal looking out over the bay as the light got steadily more interesting), we saw this heron just close to the road. Stopping very close to it, the bird seemed not at all concerned: it didn't move when I wound the window down and was able to take several photos before it flew off when CRM got out of the car.

Mulling it over .....
Across from Corran to Ardgour and its lighthouse
Today we headed across from a very wet Newtonmore to the Isle of Mull, where we will be spending the next week in self-catering accommodation at Bunessan. We drove down passed Loch Laggan to Spean Bridge, onto Fort William and then took the short Corran ferry across Loch Linnie. From there to Stontian before heading over the hills to Lochaline and the ferry across to Mull. Once we got to Mull the showery weather ceased and the sun came out.
