La Cave Voltaire, Chinon

La Cave Voltaire

On Friday we were taken to the La Cave Voltaire in the centre of Chinon. It doubles as a wine shop and café, with the accent firmly on organic and natural wine from Chinon and the neighbouring appellations. Run by former sommelier Patrice Claire, you can also have carefully selected and delicious plates of charcuterie and cheese. We tried a couple of fine and rich white 2010 Chinons from Château de Coulaine and Pascal Lambert.

Definitely recommended as a good place to buy interesting local wines as well as have a light, unhurried snack.
