Auberge de Montpoupon has reopened

L'Auberge de Montpoupon

The restaurant Auberge de Montpoupon has reopened. It has been closed since the sudden departure earlier this year of Marc Hammani, the previous tenant. See report in La Nouvelle République here

The restaurant reopened last weekend and serves lunch and dinner every day from Tuesday to Sunday.

The new tenants are Thierry Garnier, who has run pizzerias in Loches since 1982, his nephew Charles Garnier, who has worked in the kitchens at the Hotel du Cher in Bléré, and his partner Angélique.

They will be offering a 12€ lunchtime menu.

I hope things work out for the new proprietors but over the past ten years or so the Auberge has seen a succession of tenants – none of whom seem to have been able to last more than a couple of years.

Hammani took the restaurant up-market. I suspect that the new management will be less ambitious.
