Esme Morris Macintyre: the first anniversary of her death
Esme Morris Macintyre
On 7th July 2013 Esme, aged only 18, died of a brain tumour around the time that Andy Murray, one of her heroes went two sets to love up against Novak Djokovic at the Wimbledon final. The tumour was discovered when Esme was 11. Over her remaining seven years she raised thousands of pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust. You can see her story on Facebook. Esme was remembered in some detail in the recent BBC One programme: When Andy Won Wimbledon.
See last year's 7th July post here.
