Jim's Loire cycle ride for cancer charities
My new cycle top from Teenage Cancer Trust for Loire ride
Have now sorted out the eight daily rides (étapes) for my ride down the Loire to raise money for two cancer charities – the Fondation Gustave Roussy in France (https://igr.friendraising.eu/jim.budd) and Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK (http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JimBudd). All donations very gratefully received.
17th September – 24th September
Wednesday 17th : Gerbier de Jonc
– Retournac via le Béage (85 km)
Thursday 18th : Retournac –
Renaison (Côte Roannaise) (120 km)
Friday 19th: Renaison – Nevers (165 km)
Saturday 20th: Nevers –
Chavignol (60 km)
Sunday 21st: Chavignol –
Beaugency (114 km)
Monday 22nd: Beaugency –
Bourgueil (143 km)
Tuesday 23rd: Bourgueil –
Ancenis (121 km)
Wednesay 24th: Ancenis – La
Baule (115 km)
At the moment it looks like I shall doing just under 1000 kilometres but I'm not sure we have calculated all the distances entirely accurately. Also by the time I have gone wrong a few times – and this will certainly happen – the total should certainly be over 1000 km.
Esme Morris Macintyre
My ride has been inspired by Esme's adventure. Esme, CRM's niece, died of a brain tumour last year, aged just 18.
