The Real Wine Month, a UK-wide wine promotion

PRESS RELEASE: The Real Wine Month, a UK-wide wine promotion
“The Real Wine Month” is a nationwide promotion highlighting organic, biodynamic and natural wines made by artisan growers and winemakers, which will be poured by the glass or featured on wine lists and catalogues in over 200 restaurants and independent retailers.

From Cheshire to Cornwall and the Orkneys to Oxfordshire and throughout Ireland, organic, biodynamic and natural wines will be promoted throughout April in over 200 restaurants, independent merchants and wholesalers. Wines featured at The Real Wine Fair will be poured by the glass in pubs, bars, bistros and Michelin-starred establishments, whilst wine shops, retailers and wine clubs will be holding focused wine tastings and events for their customers.

Amongst the many participating retailers this year will be The Smiling Grape in St Neots, Cambridgeshire; Vino Vero in Leigh-on-Sea, Eton Vintners, Berks, Buon Vino in Yorkshire, Carrington’s in Manchester and Old Chapel Cellars, Cornwall, whilst a diverse spread of restaurants including Midsummer House in Cambridge; The Hand & Flowers in Marlow; The Oak in Notting Hill; The Remedy near Warren Street; Newman Street Tavern, Goodge Street; Ottolenghi Restaurant in Islington; Vinoteca Wine Bars in Farringdon, Marylebone, Soho & Chiswick; The Clove Club, Shoreditch; Bravas and Bell’s Diner, both in Bristol; Pennyhill Park & Spa in Surrey; The French Table, Surbiton; The Pendleton in Redhill and The King John Inn in Wiltshire will also feature in the promotion.

Wholesalers bringing the Real Wine Promotion to restaurants in their part of the British Isles will be Ellis Wharton Wines in Cornwall, RS Wines in Bristol, Le Caveau in Kilkenny, Ireland and L’Art du Vin in Edinburgh and Origin Wines in Lancashire.

This year The Real Wine Month welcomes a considerable representation of retailers and restaurants in Ireland, not only in Dublin, but also Dundalk, Kilkenny, Greystone and Waterford.

“The Real Wine Fair” is a two day wine event celebrating artisan growers who work with minimal intervention in the vineyard and the winery. 150 growers and winemakers will be pouring and presenting their wines to consumers, wine trade professionals and members of the press.

The 2014 event will be at London’s historic Tobacco Dock in Wapping, on Sunday 13th & Monday 14th April 2014.
