Michael Cox memorial service: Thursday 10th April Southwark Cathedral @3.30pm

Michael Cox@2010 EWBC in Vienna

Message from David Cox:

Dear All,

I would like to express my sincere thanks for all the wonderful letters, cards, emails and social media messages that have been kindly sent following the news of Michael’s death a week ago.  Many of you have articulated fond memories or submitted glowing tributes relating to Michael’s qualities and his character.  These have provided huge comfort to me and to his wife, Lynne, but above all we have just been so grateful to be in your thoughts and to receive your messages. Thank you.

For those of you who would like to know, we are pleased to confirm the details of Michael’s memorial service below:

Date:  Thursday 10th April
Time: 3.30 p.m.
Venue:  Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, London SE1 9DA

We plan to arrange a glass of wine locally after the service – the venue for this is not yet confirmed, but we wanted to let you know the date of the service as soon as possible.

Please note that we have been asked by Southwark Cathedral not to gather too early at the Cathedral as they have an earlier service – so please try not to arrive before 3 p.m.

A number of friends and colleagues have expressed a desire to make a donation in memory of Michael.  Should you wish to support either of Michael’s two chosen charities, the details are below:

Donations if desired to either ‘The Vintners’ Foundation’ or ‘St. Michael’s Hospice Basingstoke’ c/o Richard Steel & Partners, Alderman House, 12-14 City Road, Winchester SO23 8SD or via www.rsponline.co.uk

We do hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us in what will most definitely be a celebration of Michael’s extraordinary life.

With very best wishes

Lynne and David
