Orchestre Universitaire de Tours fills Francueil's church

Martial Djebre

Francueil's Eglise St Thibault

The Orchestre Universitaire de Tours brilliantly led by Martial Djebre held a very successful concert in Francueil's Eglise St Thibault last evening (15th March). The church was virtually full and the audience clearly enjoyed the music. The concert lasted a little over an hour playing Mendelssohn's Les Hébrides, Brahms' Danses hongroises n˚ 1 and 5 and Hans Zimmer Pirates des Caraïbes.

Martial Djebre was very keen to involve the kids in the audience making sure that they sat at the front with the best view. Then at the end he invited them to join the orchestra and sit close to someone who was playing an instrument that attracted and interested them. He even allowed one brave youngster to take over his conductor's baton!
