Seminars & Masterclasses – The Real Wine Fair (13th and 14th April) goes potty!

PRESS RELEASE:
'In tandem with the tasting and the food events, The Real Wine Fair will also be featuring a series of seminars and tasting masterclasses given by growers, winemakers and wine trade experts.

Confirmed speakers include Daniel Honan www.thewineidealist.com, well-known journalist and wine blogger, who will be talking about “The New Australia” with particular reference to a group of young artisan winemakers who are currently making waves across the country.

The use of clay pots in the form of Georgian qvevri, Spanish tinajas and Italian giare has been one of the talking points of the wine world recently. Three growers who ferment and age their wines in clay, John Wurdeman from Georgia, Rafa Bernabe from Alicante in Spain and Giusto Occhipinti from Vittoria in Sicily, will be explaining the cultural reasons and winemaking philosophy behind their actions in a seminar called “Feats of Clay.”

Salvo Foti strongly believes in restoring the viticultural heritage of his native Etna region. He will be speaking about the I Vigneri project as well as a new school he is running for aspiring vine growers, and, how the past could – and should - be the future of Sicilian wine.

All the seminars will feature a tutored tasting.

Attendance to the seminars will be free to Real Wine Fair attendees and places may be reserved on arrival at the event. For more information, please contact info@therealwinefair.com'
