#winelover 3rd anniversary: probably the last set of pics

Lunch on Sunday 16th February was at the famous Cervejaria Ramiro.

Real Wine Fair@Tobacco Dock

Simon Woolf looking to identify an aroma...

The wine tasting area@Tobacco Dock

The good news is that the Real Wine Fair 2013 has escaped from last year's awful Hitlerian bunker in Holborn and found a really fine venue at Tobacco Dock. Light and airy with good conditions for tasting, Tobacco Dock looks to be an underused venue. The only bad news is that once again Transport for London has conspired to make access by public transport difficult. For, although the Docklands Light Railway was running today, making Shadwell just a short walk away, the London Overground was severely restricted. Trains were running only from New Cross Gate and Clapham Junction as far as Shadwell with replacement buses filling in the gaps. Under normal conditions the Tobacco Dock is a short walk from Shadwell and Wapping stations.

Looks like someone at Transport for London has had bad experiences with natural wine! Last May the Overground, which would have been ideal for RAW in Brick Lane, didn't run on the Sunday due to maintenance.

The Real Wine Fair is open to the trade tomorrow from 10am to 6pm.
