London's continuously changing skyline – 2017 v 2005

Around the Elephant a new group of high rise towers developing –
a counterpoint to the City and Canary Wharf
(2nd March 2017)

London's skyline has recently been changing with dramatic speed as these comparisons with 2005 (see below) show. The biggest changes have been in the City, around London Bridge – notably with the Shard, and most recently around the Elephant/towards Blackfriars.

Still constructing in the City – optimistic despite Brexit?
Dramatic changes since 2005 - see below

Back then the NatWest Building and the
recently completed Gherkin
were the two dominant City towers.
Now both are overshadowed by taller buildings

Less of a change looking towards Canary Wharf
– just a few more towers

Coteaux du Layon - October 2005

Chenin Blanc developing nicely

Across the Layon

Across the Layon: early autumn colours

Spent the morning sorting out photos including these taken in the Coteaux du Layon in October 2005 plus one further north in the Lebreton's Croix de la Mission at Saint-Jean-de-Mauvrets.

Pickers' cars and vans

The weather was magnificent and I had never seen producers so relaxed during the harvest able to take their time and pick the fruit just when they wanted.
