Pierre Caslot: Domaine de la Chevalerie (Bourgueil) - TV clip

Here is a clip of a report on the Caslot’s approach to organic farming that was broadcast on France’s TF1 channel recently. Pierre persuades his neighbours to come once a week to help weed his vines using la binette (a hoe) – they do get well fed for their trouble followed by a siesta in the vines!

Stéphanie Caslot@Les Caves de Pyrène tasting in London 29th April 2009

I last tasted the Caslot wines in London at Les Caves de Pyrène tasting. Click here for report.

The Caslots have a new website (http://www.domainedelachevalerie.fr/) although, for the moment, while it looks more modern than their old one, it appears to be less informative. There are no details of their wines, for example.

We have been visiting this vineyard just once every few years, stocking up on wines and bringing them home, since we first stumbled across it in 1999 with the help of a book on Loire vineyards written by an American.

So lovely to find your blog on Fiona's site today.
