#2015Loire Sancerre has another good vintage
Arrived in Sancerre today around midday from Touraine. A good number of producers have finished - we have seen a few groups who finished this morning and who are now celebrating the end of harvest. Most of those who have not completed will be finishing tomorrow or on Monday.
Although there are few grapes left on the vines, those that have yet to be picked look very clean and healthy despite the rain of last week. This is true for both Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Actidities are down on last year but the juice I have tasted appears to be well balanced: attractive texture and sufficient freshness in the finish.
I will be posting a more detailed report with photos when I have a better and more reliable internet connection.
