Interloire: grapes of discontent?

Bottle of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil in the village square

The producers of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil were due to vote at their annual general meeting yesterday on whether to remain within Interloire or to follow the example of Bourgueil to come out and go it alone. In the event no vote was taken. There will, however, be a meeting next Tuesday (26th June) of the Touraine's red wine appellations with the exception of Bourgueil as they have already left Interloire. This will apparently be a meeting to take stock before the Saint-Nicolas producers make a decision.

My weekly post here on Les 5 du Vin takes a look at Bourgueil's first 18 months outside Interloire.
