Lovely pictures, Jim. The swimming pool calls for a SPLASH and I love the colours of the vineyard slope on the next one. Still, did you behave so badly in Nov. 1996 that you were not allowed back there in between, or was it just a conflict between the exquisite Tuscan taste and your latest shirt?

Might have been the shirt, Luc, but actually have been back since a couple of times. It was just a question of sorting out pictures yesterday. A task, incidentally, that is far from complete.

I admire you the more for it: must be rather cold in the middle of a stream at that time of day!
A more interesting comment – I hope. I drank my last bottle of Olga Raffault’s Champ Chenin 1989 two days ago. It was a little past its best, with an acidic finish of a definitely volatile type (cork OK though). But the nose was very complex, honey-like and exotic (mango, pineapple, maracuja) and you had a formidably pleasant oxydation (almost sherryish) at first. So, if any of you still possess that wine, my recommendation would be: ad fundum!
