Vouvray 31st May 2008: flood

Damage to the road: Monday after the storm

My thanks to Johan of Domaine Huet for this link to a video he took of the effects of the storm at Vouvray on 31st May 2009. It shows water pouring down past Domaine Huet's cellars and offices in the Rue de la Croix Buisée, Vouvray.

See also this report on France's TF1 TV channel.

Notes on my visit on 12th January to Domaine Huet are now complete with those from tasting with Bernard Fouquet to be added tomorrow, I hope, as well as my visit to Couly-Dutheil in Chinon. Indeed I'm hoping to work through a backlog of visits I need to write up before the Salon des Vins de Loire.

Not sure if it's been linked to before, but there's also a news report about the flooding here.
