Back to Touraine

Hoar frost: 12.12.08

Ice and sun on a lake

Having stayed overnight in Rouen we travelled down this morning to Touraine. Quite thick fog from Rouen down to just south of Le Mans, where with the approach of the magical valley, the fog suddenly lifted replaced by bright sunshine, blue skies lighting up the still thick hoar frost still coating the trees. Decidedly cold – outside temperature dropped to minus 3˚C.

Welcome back to Touraine Jim. Some other dates for the diary - all at Epeigne :
Fete du St Vincent - Sunday 25th January. Mass at the village church, folk dancing by La Gidelle, wine tasting followed by the famous St Vincent lunch. This year featuring salad of st jacques, tranche of hoki with crayfish sauce, fillet of ostrich with port sauce, cheeses and dessert.
Fete du Country - Sunday 24th May. Epeigne goes country. Performance by the Range Heroes, line dancing demonstration and barbeque. Yee-haw !
