Orkney: a grey, wild arrival

One of the causeways - the Churchill barriers - linking the islands

A wild crossing of causeway from Lamb Holm

We chose a wild day to arrive in Orkney – high winds and driving rain, although the crossing from Gills Bay in Caithness across to St Margaret's Hope wasn't particularly rough.
