Hello Jim!

Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

I am planning a short trip to the Loire Valley next week and am trying to plan which winemakers to visit.

I am particularly interested in the smaller and biodynamic growers, and any that are located in particularly picturesque surroundings. Can you offer any tips, recommend some good places to visit? Also, do you know if wineries usually allow passer's by to come in, have a look around, a have a taste?

I would greatly appreciate your expert advice!

Many thanks

Aneesh

Thanks Aneesh. The Loire is a big place so it would be good to know which part you are intending to visit.

For many producers you can just turn up but it is best to make an appointment as these are often small family businesses and they may well be busy or just away in the vines.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I am planning to stick to the Touraine area (as I have been advised that this is a particularly beautiful region with lots of interesting natural wine makers).

So far I have been recommended to visit Pierre and Catherine Breton as they are apparently lovely, welcoming people, are tucked away in a beautiful area, and make amazing Cabernet Franc and Cheinin Blanc.

Are there any other winemakers with these type of attributes which you recommend? Or any other "must see" places in the Touraine area. I have 3 full days so I'd like to explore, but I wouldn't want to waste my time by following poor advice from guidebooks.

Also, what's the best way to contact winemakers?

Thanks again for your advice with this, I am very grateful.
