1996 Touraine Gamay Clos Roche Blanche

Another splendid bottle of the remarkable 1996 Touraine Gamay from the Clos Roche Blanche. Although the blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay is rarely successful, Loire Gamay as it ages can come to resemble Pinot Noir. This 1996 has some of the silky, spicy opulence associated with Pinot Noir. I'm not sure that this is going to get any better but it should hold the line for a few more years.
