London's continuously changing skyline – 2017 v 2005

Around the Elephant a new group of high rise towers developing –
a counterpoint to the City and Canary Wharf
(2nd March 2017)

London's skyline has recently been changing with dramatic speed as these comparisons with 2005 (see below) show. The biggest changes have been in the City, around London Bridge – notably with the Shard, and most recently around the Elephant/towards Blackfriars.

Still constructing in the City – optimistic despite Brexit?
Dramatic changes since 2005 - see below

Back then the NatWest Building and the
recently completed Gherkin
were the two dominant City towers.
Now both are overshadowed by taller buildings

Less of a change looking towards Canary Wharf
– just a few more towers

Jim,

I know you take and have taken photos abundantly down the years. I was wondering if you could post a few taken from the same spot over time - that would really show London's changing skyline.

Keep up the good work,

Graham

Hi Graham. Thanks. Have posted a few from 2005 to give an idea. Will post a more comprehensive selection another time. Jim
