Press release:

'Skin Côntact LIVE! Raises £10,000 For Charity - and raffle winners announced

On Monday night, Skin Côntact took to the Vinopolis stage for their one-off gig spectacular – and it rocked! More than 300 tickets were sold, and after the final calculations over £10,000 is expected to be donated to Wine Relief, the wine trade’s fundraising initiative for Comic Relief.

These funds were partly raised by selling 832 raffle tickets, and the draw for prizes has now taken place. We are very pleased to announce the following winners:

Alex Layton: 12 bottles of Rhône wine, donated by InterRhône
Jim Budd: 6 bottles of Rhône wine, donated by InterRhône
Leah de Felice Renton: 6 bottles of Rhône wine, donated by InterRhône
David Searle: a signed copy of the fourth edition of the Oxford Companion to Wine, due for release this autumn, donated by Jancis Robinson
Anthony Rose: two Zalto red wine glasses and a decanter, donated by Around Wine
Gustavo Lobianco: a copy of Wine Grapes signed by all three authors, donated by Jancis Robinson
Justin Howard-Sneyd: two tickets to the Vinopolis Wine Tasting Experience, donated by Vinopolis.

The gig itself was a triumph. Skin Côntact’s mastermind Richard Hemming said, “I was thrilled with how much Skin Côntact LIVE! rocked. The band and the singers played and sang their hearts out, DJ Neal Martin kept the dancefloor moving and the Rhône wine flowed freely. Our caterers The Frying Scotsman were hugely popular, and the event branding was a great job by design agency Breakfast.

“Social media has been buzzing with positive feedback, which is wonderful to hear – and above all, it looks like we are going to exceed our target of raising £10,000 for Wine Relief.”

Agnès Heller from Skin-Côntact’s partner for the evening, Inter-Rhône, comments, “How amazing to have the opportunity to lend our support to such a worthy cause in such a fun way!  Huge congratulations to the band and guest singers for a roof-raising performance.  And credit to the visionary Richard Hemming who gave us Skin Contact LIVE! and an unforgettable evening.”
