Loire – some photos of the lightly misty river yesterday
The bridge at Langeais – the pillars are original but the bridge had to be replaced
after it was bombed in 1944
We headed down the Loire yesterday to Anjou where I have a tasting of Savennières today. It was a fine but slightly misty March day.
Note the strong current under the bridge – swimming is banned here
Langeais: upstream from the bridge
Langeais: downstream from the bridge
A vine in the Layon - as in Touraine the buds are still tight shut, although trees and shrubs are further advanced into Spring as you travel westwards
