Affair Jean-Marie-Guffens: falsely accused by La Répression des Fraudes
Jean-Marie Guffens (photo from his website)
My Les 5 du Vin comrades, Jacques Berthomeau (here) and Hervé Lalau (here), have both posted on Jean-Marie Guffens, a négociant (Verget SA) and grower in the Mâconnais, falsely accused by the fraud squad whose agents have been found to have fabricated documents to prove their case.
A film about this case has been published on the La Revue du Vin de France (here) with a brief explanation on the Verget SA site.
Although I'm aware this is a different department of the Répression des Fraudes that is involved in this case, it remains unbelievable that the Répression des Fraudes allows 1855 (1855.com) to continue to defraud its en primeur customers with apparent impunity. If the Répression des Fraudes did take on 1855, there would be no need to fabricate documents and evidence.

Well said, Jim.
Hervé. Someone needs to advise Jean-Marie G to get a well connected shareholder .....
Qui va s'occuper des fraudes de "la Répression des Fraudes"?
Me fellow-contryman sure make jolly good wines, man, but he very very arrogant and bad temper. Jealous people will wanna take him down ! ‘m tellin’ ya.
Luc. Nice to see you have climbed out of the dark vats and are now back in the sunlight of the Roussillon Rivièra. It seems all too likely that a fellow producer denounced Jean-Marie to Les Fraudes. Pity that denouncing the business practices of 1855 doesn't have the same effect.
