French parliament to debate and vote on new alcohol measures

The French Assemblée Nationale is due to debate and vote on a raft of measures and attendant amendments about the selling of alcohol next week. These measures include charging for wine-tastings, making the mention of wine on the internet legal, except on sites orientated towards children, and not requiring drinks journalists to warn in their articles of the dangers of drinking to excess.

It remains to be seen whether sensible decisions will be made, such as clearing up the legal confusion over wine on the internet, or daft ones like a blanket requirement to charge for wine tastings. How would the annual Bordeaux en primeur tastings operate or Vinexpo or the Salon des Vins de Loire if you had to pay for all wine tastings?
