2016 Tour de France – 2nd week – still stalemate?
Stage 10 – Escaldes Engordany to Revel
Stage 10 – Escaldes Engordany to Revel – 197 kms
The Tour sets off again after the first rest day leaving the Pyrénées behind. With a sharp climb (Category 3) just before the finish, this may well rule out the pure sprinters. The Côte de Saint-Ferréol – 1.8 kms at an average of 6.6% – comes just seven kilometres before the finish. This is more likely to suit riders like Peter Sagan, who will be looking to wrest the Green Jersey off Mark Cavendish. It is also possible that some GC contenders will pluck up courage to attack Chris Froome on this climb.
