Men's Olympic time trial: Bradley Wiggins wins Gold in 50:39

Men's road race om Saturday

Magnificent time trial ride from Bradley Wiggins (50:39) to take Gold by 44 seconds from Tony Martin (51:21) getting silver and then Chris Froome (51.47) taking Bronze. Although Tony Martin led Bradley at the first time check Wiggins easily pulled that back over the rest of the course leading Martin by 11 seconds at the second, 22 seconds at the third and then 42 seconds on the line. Nevertheless a great effort from Tony Martin after his injury in the Tour. Equally a very brave ride from Fabian Cancellara to defend the Olympic Gold he won in Beijing. Clearly he hadn't recovered fully from his crash in the men's road race on Saturday.

Full results here.

Fortunate that the national anthem at the medal ceremony wasn't sung by Lesley Garrett as it was on the Champs Elysée. Once again a stumbling poor commentary, especially from Hugh Porter who made numerous mistakes.
