Jim, if you have 10 minutes of spare time at the Chiado, pay a short visit to Luísa Cálem – of Port fame – and say hello to her on my behalf. She has a lovely (double storeyed) appartment on Rua dos Duques de Bragança N° 7, 3rd b. Ages ago, one of her visitors (she was having a party) climbed via the front facade to the 4th floor and entered through the French window: frightening! To be honest, I’m not sure he was sober in any respect.
This charming lady used to be in charge of all things “winey” concerning Portugal in Belgium and she did a great job!
