Two more excellent visits on Friday – Coralie and Damien Delecheneau at La Grange Tiphaine (Amboise) in the morning and Philippe Foreau – Domaine du Clos Naudin (Vouvray) in the afternoon.
At La Grange Tiphaine we had a walk in the vines close to the wine-making facilities including some very old Côt and Chenin – around 100 years old – and tasted the current vintages.
With Philippe Foreau we had a fascinating tasting which climaxed with the 1989 moelleux réserve and 1990 moelleux réserve. As is often the case with 1990 this was considerably darker and richer but with less finesse, precision and minerality than the 1989, which was my clear preference of the two.
Fuller reports to be written ...............
