Chile: a government that enjoys wine

Rafael Moreno: The Chilean ambassador for the UK

Wines of Chile kindly hosted the Circle of Wine Writers annual Christmas party last night at Delfina close to London Bridge Station (London). It was refreshing to see and hear the Chilean ambassador, His Excellency Rafael Moreno, being so enthusiastic about wine, in particular, of course, Chilean wine. The Portuguese Government have a similar positive attitude and the Portuguese ambassador also goes out of his way to promote the wines of Portugal.

What a sad contrast with France and its current convoluted and tortured attitude to wine – a significant French export and one of the products and ways of life that defines La Belle France.
