Tasting Loires@Vigneron Independant

19 January 2010

I left the crush of the Liberty Wines tastings, hopped on a tube and headed to the French Association of Independent Growers at the Lords Cricket Ground (St John's Wood, London). Like the Liberty event I intend to write this up over the next few days but here are some photos of the Loire producers present at this tasting.

Corinne Laurent, Famille Laurent, Saint-Pourçain

Carine Simoneau (right) and her assistant, Chloé Pilch; Antoine Simoneau, AC Touraine

Chantal Gibault, Vignoble Gibault, Valençay and Touraine

Alexandre Dérame and his wife, Earl Dérame et fils, Muscadet

Sébastien Rahard, Domaine des Gaumonts, Bonnezeaux

Vincent Guichard and Arnaud Galara, Closerie de Chanteloup, Touraine Amboise and Montlouis

Jean-Louis Petillat, Saint-Pourçain

Domaine Gibault is really great. There wines are totally expressive of their terroir but also have a great roundness. Please visit our website to buy.
