Loire 2017 harvest – some good news


 Picking in Sancerre – 2009 vintage


Although it is always problematic to make predictions about the quality of a vintage before the grapes are safely in the winery, there are postive reports coming from the Loire about the quality of the 2017 vintage. We will see – fingers crossed. If correct this would give the Loire four good quality vintages on the trot – 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. A record I fancy!   

'En Loire, les vendanges 2017 ont démarré dans le vignoble nantais et l’Anjou-Saumur, et ne devraient plus tarder en Touraine. Suite au dévastateur gel de printemps, la quantité sera problématique pour de nombreux domaines. Mais la qualité est au rendez-vous de ce millésime hors-norme.
