Heading to Jerez tomorrow for 4th #winelover anniversary



Tomorrow we leave Lisbon to head to Spain with the two Andrés to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the #winelovers. The wines of Jerez have long been amongst our favourites. They are some of the few wines that we buy in the UK. 

The last time I was in Jerez was in 1997 – shoicked at how long since I have been back in this great region with its lovely and fascinating wines. 

The programme that has been put together for us #winelovers looks great!  
 
Tuesday. February 9th: Jerez de la Frontera
Welcome casual dinner at Restaurante Bocarambo, Jerez
Wednesday. February 10th Day 1 Jerez de la Frontera
9.15 – 10.00 welcome at the Consejo Regulador del Brandy y Los Vinos de Jerez Bertrán Domecq (President of the Consejo) & César Saldaña (Director)

Bodega 1: Tío Pepe – González Byass
10.00 – 10.20: transfer from the Consejo to “Viña la Canariera” from González Byass
10.20 – 11.20: technical visit of the vineyard

11.20 – 11.40: transfer from the vineyard to bodegas tío pepe

11.40 – 14.00: Bodegas Tío Pepe visit: “Ages of Tío Pepe” by Antonio Flores, Tío Pepe Sherry Master
14.00 – 16.30: paired lunch At Tío Pepe

Bodega 2: Bodega Lustau
18.15 – 20.30 : “Amontillados” by Manuel Lozano, Sherry Master & 7 years Best Fortified Oenologist*

20.30 – 22.30 gala dinner at Bodegas Lustau

Bodega 4: Bodega Delgado Zuleta  18.00 – 18.15: Walk to next cellar

18.15 – 20.30: Bodegas Delgado Zuleta visit: “Biological Ageing” by Salvador Real, oenologist
20.30 – 22.30: gala dinner at Bodegas Delgado Zuleta 22.30 / 23.00 Transfer back to Jerez
