Jérôme Houssin, Domaine des Tilleuls, Muscadet Sèvre et Maine

I tasted with Jérôme Houssin of Domaine des Tilleuls. His family has been running the domaine for more than five generations and they now have 30 hectares. I tasted with Jérôme last year at French Wine Discoveries. I was impressed by the weight and texture of his 2012 VV Les Quartre Chanteaux, which spends 18 months sur lie. This means that although this wine has spent a long time on its fine lees it cannot claim to be sur lie as the term sur lie can only be used for wines that are bottled between 1st March and 30th November following the vintage.
French wine law up its arse!
