Epeigné-les-Bois: inauguration of Le Verger de Maria – 25.10.2014

Stone to mark Le Verger de Maria

This afternoon saw the inauguration of Le Verger de Maria in the allotments of Epeigné-les-Bois just across the road from the village's étang. The stone is in honour of Maria, the mother of Irene Moreau. Sadly Maria is very seriously ill, so there were mixed emotions at today's ceremony.

Before the inauguration there were brief speeches from Dominique Hisbergue, president of Les Amis des Patrimoines Association des amis des patrimoines d’Epeigné-les-Bois, and Serge, who was Maria's neighbour for many years both in the bourg of Epeigné and also in the allotment/verger as they had neighbouring plots and would see each other most days.
