Masters of Riesling trip: brilliant Pinot Noir from Jean Stodden in Ahr (Germany)

The first visit of the day to Jean Stodden in Rech (Ahr Valley) was a real eye opener as we tasted some fabulous Pinot Noir.

Seems you've been "rambling" a lot. After announcing a journey direction Rhine and Mosel, you end up in the Ahr Valley! I visited the Adeneuer Bros quite some years ago, as they made what was then reputedly the best Pinot Noir in all the "north" of the German vineyard. And I was left unimpressed. You turn up with a totally different view of the picture. Interesting.

Jean Stodden may well be an exception, Luc.
