  1. Jim, you may not be aware of the danger inherent to visiting Saint-Georges, and I’m not talking about any damned drake. It’s the river, Mr Budd, the river. You’ve got Saint-Georges sur Cher (yours), Saint-Georges sur Loire and Saint-Georges ... dans l’Indre, literally. It happened long before you knew France well, I suppose, but Michel Delpech’s wife was allegedly dumped into the river, if we are to believe his lyrics:
    “ Un soir à Saint-Georges,
    Je faisais la kermesse.
    Ma femme attendait,
    Planquée, dans la Mercédès.
    Elle s'est fait j'ter dans l'Indre
    Par tout mon fan-club ...”
    Dangerous, I’m telling you.

  2. Thanks Luc. I'm all to aware of the inherent dangers that lurk in Saint-Georges having been bitten by a dog when cycling there last September!

  3. Sorry about the mishap, Mr Budd. Do you know Baumard’s slogan is: “no cryo, no cyclo”? Or was it Hwang who wishes “no nice talk, no wheel spoke”?
