Intro to the Future Economy Barcelona 2012
Now that the summer break is over, there are less than two months to go before Pancho Campo's and Charade Management's Future Economy Barcelona 2012 conference starring Al Gore on 19th and 20th October.
With nearly 1700 tickets to sell it must be hoped that sales have picked up after what appeared to be a sluggish start. Although when first announced the 'early bird' offer was due to finish at the end of July with prices due to rise significantly. Instead ticket prices were dramatically slashed. Doubtless canny conference goers may be waiting for mid-September ('special prices' until 15th) when ticket prices are due to rise (see below). Should tickets sales be poor further cuts (three for the price of one?) may be necessary as the conference still has no major sponsor.
The 'early bird' prices
Late July – prices slashed – will they go up in mid-September?
Future Economy has three 'platinum sponsors: Ecoembres, Grupo Matarromera and Torres & Earth. Miquel Torres, who has supported Campo's various events in the past, was due to speak at Future Economy but pulled out in July. The other listed 'platinum sponsor' is the wine academy but like Chrand Management this is a Campo vehicle.
The Financial Times has become the 'exclusive international media partner'. Al Gore is also due to speak at Thinking Green seminar in Gibraltar on 21st October. Charade Management are reported to be involved in 'working with the Government (Gibraltar) organising this seminar.
i have heard the event has been cancelled.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard that it has been cancelled. It would be good if soneone can confirm this either way. Recently the 2012 Future Economy Barcelona 2012 was claiming that it was sold out, although there was a 50% reduction being offered for students.
