Picking Melon de Bourgogne in the vineyards of Domaine Pierre Guindon@Saint Géréon
On the way back from the Pays Nantais on Thursday we stopped off briefly in the Coteaux d'Ancenis/Muscadet Coteaux de la Loire. Here a team headed by Madame Pierre Guindon were busy picking a parcel of Melon de Bourgogne.
Again there is a small crop here but of good quality with little or no sign of rot. The overall yield is expected to be around 30hl/ha, so a little higher than that reported by some producers in Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine and substantially higher than expectations in the Côte du Grandlieu.
