Global Wine Investments Ltd – first-class brazen cheek!

... and 24-carat cheek!

With the wine investment arena becoming increasingly crowded as companies breed nearly as voraciously as super-charged rabbits, how does a new company, set up in April 2011, set themselves apart?

More guff about being a leading wine broking business (with minimal experience!), about Robert Parker, tailor-made portfolios put together by junior telesales staff, etc. etc. just isn't going to cut it anymore. It's become commonplace!

How then to get credibility? Putting together an impressive list of carefully chosen wines would look good but is going to cost time and, most importantly, substantial sums of money. Hang on! ... What if we just borrow or purloin a list from an established merchant. Stick it up on our site and pretend it's ours? Will anyone be the wiser?

Actually, yes, because the list you can download from the site of Global Wine Investments Ltd bears a startling resemblance to that of Albany Vintners Ltd, except that the prices Global charge are substantially higher. Albany have told me that they have never heard of Global and that they certainly do not have permission to use Albany's wine list.
