Sweet fish@Austrian sweet wine tasting #EWBC
Impressive opening to the 2011 European Wine Bloggers' Conference@Brescia with a tasting of Austrian sweet wines. 12 wines – almost almost all of them excellent. Just shows how much progress Austrian wines have made over the last 25 years since the Austrian Wine Marketing Board was founded. It is very good to see that chaptalisation (adding sugar) is banned in the making of sweet wine as is cryoselection/cryoextraction. Surely time the French followed suit and banned both practices in the making of sweet wines.
