Les 5 du Vin: a look at Quarts de Chaume as Grand Cru and Chaume as Coteaux du Layon Premier Cru
I certainly hope that there won't be another legal challenge. If Jean Baumard does initiate another legal challenge to this latest hierarchy (approved unanimously by the INAO), he will find it difficult to avoid the suspicion that he is challenging because he fears that Domaine des Baumard are unable to meet the now stringent conditions attached the Grand Cru Quarts de Chaume.
I hope that instead of a challenge Baumard will take the necessary steps in sections of their terraced 'vignes larges' to meet the new rules.
Nice rules... (nice wines too) - let's hope that means Baumard won't be able to scupper things this time!
ReplyDeleteThanks Charles.
