London: Dirty Dozen tasting@Sardines

Reflecting on the tasting

The Dirty Dozen's inaugural importer tasting proved to be a crowded affair – not through fault of the organisers but because the room booked at 37 Charles Street in London's Mayfair became unusable due to a collapsed ceiling. Instead, as an emergency, the Dozen were offered the courtyard – a much smaller space. As expected there were many interesting things to taste but because of the crowds I concentrated on samples from the Loire – a post to come soon on these.

The Dirty Dozen are: Astrum Wine Cellars, Aubert & Mascoli, Clark Foyster Wines, Dynamic Vines, Flint Wines, fortyfive10˚, h2vin, Indigo Wine, Raymond Reynolds, Roberson Wine, Vine Trail and The Wine Barn.

  1. I like the photo of the disco ball reflection! Yes, it was rather cramped but we were very happy with the strong turnout. It was really good to see such an enthusiastic bunch of visitors. Onwards and upwards!

  2. H2Vin has an increasingly good Loire list I think. What were they pouring Jim?

  3. Isabelle. There were lots of positives, including a strong turnout and lots of interesting wines, and clearly the change of venue was out of the control of the 12. I look forward to further events from the Dirty Dozen.

Chris – you will have to wait for the next post I fear.
