Some photos of the 2011 vintage@Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin kindly sent by Marie Chartier. Understandably she chose shots of the good 2011 grapes with none of the 30% of rotten ones that had to be discarded. See report here.
Very special pruning system found only in Le Landreau
Pickers relaxing in one of the cru vineyards@La Chapelle-Heulin
A trailer of Melon de Bourgogne
Lovely shots of the grapes, although they are not yours, for once.
ReplyDeleteBut, tell me, is there something rotten in the King-Dom Luneau-Papin-mark ?
“ I am thy father's spirit,
Doom'd for a certain term to walk the night,
And for the day confined to fast in fires,
Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature
Are burnt and purged away ...”
Luc. Good to hear from you. I assume that a) the vintage is now over and b) La chasse is yet to start.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing rotten in the fine Muscadets from Luneau-Papin just that this year has required careful selection in the vineyards.
You, for one, Budd are a teaser.
ReplyDeleteAs far as rosé and white are concerned, yes, “vendange” is over.
I had a slight touch of oidium on the syrah (4 bunches out of 115 cases).
Syrah for red wines to come next week.
Then the carignans, with my younger son + girl-friend and my daughter’s “amoureux “ - as they now call them - to play the role of Moscow’s eye on the pickers.
I’m overpleased. And exhausted: bronchitis (Christine too !) – you know the “brown chitis” from “All animals great and small” in Yorkshire Moors to start with, gout spondylitis and ankle arthrosis to continue, and tooth filling that decided it was about time to quit to round it up (Round Up, funny !). We expect a good 80 hl of grenache as of first week of October, only to finish with Maury and Rivesaltes grenat amidst the rounds of war-like bullets as them bloody “chasseurs” will have their go: one cartridge (off target) to every gallon of pastis !
I don’t know what I despise most: Catalan hunters or the wild boar. Probably both Sarkosy and Strauss-Kahn: shame on them !
Luc. Delighted that the vendange is going well. I tasted the wines of one of your neighbours – Ms Jones – on Tuesday and have posted my impressions.
