Off to the Western Isles
The high summer@Inverness!
We are off to the Western Isles today. Heading initially to Oban and then taking the ferry tomorrow across to Barra and working our way through the islands to Lewis to get the ferry back to the mainland at Ullapool. Unfortunately the lovely weather of last week has given way to low grey cloud and rain. Furthermore the forecast isn't great, which is a shame as this is the first time I have been to the Hebrides.
Will be aiming to continue to post daily but not sure how easy it will be to get an internet connection while we are on our travels.

Greet the « paps of Jura » for me, Jim, and try to have the oysters (from Loch Indaal) fritters at the Harbour Inn in Bowmore: they rank amongst the most delicious things I have ever eaten! Just with a splash of lemon juice and the local dram (“reduced” – i.e oddly enough diluted !- about one third of its volume).
What's on the itinerary Jim? Walking, cycling, or something else?
Luc. We're off to the Outer Hebrides, so won't be going to Jura etc. this time but thanks for the suggestions.
Chris. Essentially touring. Going from Barra up thru the islands to Lewis. Hopefully will get some walking in, although the weather is pretty miserable at the moment.
