Talking about Joyeuse, the homonymous Dukes possessed a very pretty (yes, pretty) four-towered castle in Couiza, near Limoux. It has now been transformed in a luxury hotel with a very decent restaurant: “l’Hôtel des Ducs de Joyeuse”. I suggest you pay them a visit when next time in the area (André has some German friends in Limoux, hasn’t he). As a bonus, some acceptable Maury can be drunk on the premises (single “s”, correct?). This very drink can serve as a conclusion to an enjoyable meal or as a ... premiss to such an event (double “s”, correct?).
The photo - looks like Hugo Rose (and that's confirmed looking at the URL) but I do believe he is standing on the steps at the front of Chateau Preuillac. A bottle of Cordon Negro, perhaps?
Bonne année !
ReplyDeleteThanks. You too Walt!
