Reminder: garlic and basil fair@Tours today

Quick reminder that the famous garlic and basil fair is on today in Tours around Les Halles.

La Nouvelle République has an article on a garlic producer from Restigné: Raymond le producteur : “ L'ail, c'est du travail ! ”

Unfortunately all the garlic producers are over the age of retirement – apparently there are no youngsters coming up to take their place.

  1. what who doesn't want to grow garlic! Scapes are yummy and so is garlic, now if only more people made that Korean Fermented Stuff.

OR they could make Garlic Wine like in the Episode of Oz and James Wine Adventure USA haha

  2. I agree it seems hard to believe and hope that the tradition of growing garlic around Bourgueil will not die out.

  3. just coming back from the Garlic Mecca, Saint Clar, in the Lomagne, I can assure you, Jim, that Ail thrives in Gascony.

Ail ail ail, say the unaccustomed stomachs (and noses).
