Last evening had dinner with friends and enjoyed three very reasonably priced wines from Bruno Curassier, Domaine de la Grange in Bléré. First his sparkling Touraine Rosé made from Cabernet and Grolleau with a host of fine bubbles and attractive light reds fruits.
Then the 2008 Rosé made from Grolleau with some strawberry as well as apricot fruit and a little spice. At 3.75€ this is very good value. Lastly the deep coloured 2006 Patrimoine – Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon aged in barriques, deep coloured, soft black fruits and enough structure to allow to to age another two or three years at least. Fairly priced at 8€.

Jim,
ReplyDeleteThe 2006 Patrimoine also contains Cabernet Sauvignon. Bruno's website below is now in english as well !

Thanks Mark. I should have checked but I put the details up rapidly early this morning before leaving from a days tasting around Saumur with visits to Le Clos Rougeard and Domaine de Saint-Just.
ReplyDeleteI could also have mentioned enjoyable Bruno's Crémant de Loire that we drank together last week.
I also thought I had a link to Bruno's site but it appears not – noe rectified!
